During the summer time classes in kindergarten are organized differently because not all of them are open.
Summer period starts June 1st and lasts until August 31st.
Summer break
Summer break for the whole kindergarten lasts for one month. Exact period is different every summer. Parents are informed about the dates in early spring. During summer break all classes are closed. The parents are not required to pay for the tuition during this period.
There is the possibility to acquire a substitute kindergarten while the regular kindergarten is on summer break. The places in the substitute kindergarten are limited however. Families who need a place in the substitute kindergarten are asked to apply at least a month before summer break by going to the principal’s office.
There is no possibility to get placement in substitute kindergarten if there is current tuition debt.
If your child is under 3 years old, then we suggest applying to substitute kindergarten only if there are no other possibilities.
Every child needs a break during the school year. If there is no possibility to take a vacation with your child during the summer period, then it is suggestable to take a longer break in some other time during the year.
Procedures in summertime when kindergarten is open
Not all classes are open in the summer.
Before summer the parent is asked to mark down when the child is absent and when present during summer.
